I would like to buy a new fish finder in the next month or so and would like to get some feedback on which ones you guys like and which ones are not so good.  Also what features do you consider a must.  I am not sure I can afford the GPS versions but I have seen some from Humminbird (series 700) which you can add it on later.

kevin,
I have a humminbird you probably can have , I have to check to see what model it is. Let me know if you are interested in it. Then you can save your money till you can afford a combo. To me that's the way to go.

I'll give it a try.  I have an old right now which still works but is quit out dated.  I will update soon but I agree with you that the combo unit is the best option.

Thanks
